Philly Personal Fitness believes in bringing health and wellness to your doorstep.  We help you reach your unique and individual goals by creating a customized fitness plan, while focusing on the importance of nutrition.  Our services can help you achieve your weight loss, muscle building, movement, or performance goals with a 360 degree approach that blends working out, nutrition, and recovery.  There is nearly unlimited fitness information out there and countless avenues to wellness.  We focus on the most important aspect: accountability.  ​

Personal Training &
​Group Fitness
One plan does not fit all.  We use a mix of steady-state cardio, high intensity interval training (HIIT), resistance and weight training.  From there, we customize the training volume, frequency, weights, and intensity to best meet your unique goals. 

Nutrition
Overall health and fitness does not come from just working out.  Incorporating proper nutrition over the course of your training, and life, will help you reach your desired fitness or wellness goals.  More importantly, it will help you create lasting healthy habits.  This approach looks different for each client.  We will design measurable and achievable goals to hit every day, week, and month. 
Accountability
There is no shortage of information on health and fitness.  The world is full of ways to workout and eat, but our largest obstacle is often consistency.  We create accountability with frequent check ins via your preferred method of communication: text, phone, or video conferencing.  This ensures you stay on top of the small habits that will lead to your goals 
Recovery
Recovery is essential to consistent training.  They who recover the most, can train the longest.  At Philly Personal Fitness, we prioritize recovery to reduce the risk of injury and will allow you to maximize your potential in each session.  Our focus on stretching, mobility and attention to good sleep habits adds extra value to your individualized training program.

Philly personal fitness has been a game changer for me. I started my journey towards better health years ago, and after an 80lb weight loss I plateaued, I lost all my strength, and started to go in the wrong direction again. Then Gary and Sean came into my life and got me right back on track, helped me recover from injury, regain my strength, learn proper technique and form with exercise, develop a better understanding of nutrition and learn the importance of active recovery and overall health and wellness. After about a year of working with PPF I was able to do my first Ironman triathlon, I lost an additional 40lbs and entirely changed my body composition. Gary’s background as a registered nurse and Sean’s background as a Physical therapist has allowed them to develop a personal training program that is truly one of a kind. Gary and his team at Philly personal fitness are incredible. I have been lifting for 8 years which has lead to many injuries. I have corrected my form with the help of PPF and now I can lift heavier without pain. Definitely worth the investment if you want to take your fitness to the next level.

I have been “allergic” to exercise for many years, literally! I have been able to get away with it because I am on the thinner side. However, as I get older, and I am, now that I am going on 67 I can’t get away with no exercise anymore! It is catching up with me! Gary Samson has been my answer. Finally, I care what kind of physical shape I am in and I owe it to Gary! He is but serious about increasing my strength over the previous week and month.

If you are looking to get healthier and stronger, please go see the trainers at Philly Personal Fitness. My husband and I do couples training with Coach Gary and it is the highlight of our week. We’ve been PPF members for about a year and it’s been the best investment.My fitness goals have changed since training with Coach Gary and he’s been able to pivot and work with me throughout it all. When I started, I wanted to get stronger and lose some fat. We worked on my form, dialed in my nutrition, and in a matter of weeks I was already seeing great progress and setting PRs. Then I got pregnant and my focus shifted to maintaining my strength and health. Coach Gary was great at modifying workouts and benchmarks as my body changed and I’m happy to say I’ve had a great pregnancy thus far.
I’m looking forward to working with Coach Gary postpartum and setting new goals and new PRs!
